1-ON-1 SESSIONS

One-on-One with VEDA Expert Therese Skovgaard Poulsen

During the intake Therese will perceive any energetic hindrances in your body and mind and from this start point, guide you into deep somatic experiences. This leads you to seeing where you are stuck and what your fears, anxiety, avoidances, sadness or anger are truly about. Seeing is the first step, as from there, all can be changed on a mental, physical and emotional level.

This explorative journey on a sensory level allows us to listen and observe the energetic patterns to awaken us to our truth. When this is revealed, Therese will know how to guide you with tools to support your inner change, where you will find clarity and peace of mind.

Therese will explore your intentions for the retreat, in order to bring clarity and success. Personal and medical questions will be asked so you can be guided in the best possible way.

When blocked energy is released, it allows you to feel the sensations in your body and mind. This leads to experiencing new internal realisations that result in positive change and growth.

After a session, some have a deeper sense of wholeness whilst others become aware of previously buried beliefs or attitudes that, when addressed, result in an improved relationship both to self and others.

Based upon Therese’s 18 year studies of Ichazo and Gurdjieff’s work in the meta-physical world of ancient Sufi and Yogic teachings, she now uses her own unique approach in developing body, mind and emotions in parallel, to promote comprehensive inner expansion.

This distinctive style is most appropriate to the needs of modern people, and her session will leave you feeling more grounded, nourished and balanced as well as with a great sense of awareness of direction after this comprehensive, holistically approached intake.

One-on-one with VEDA Expert Dr. Sujatha Kekada

When you consult with Dr. Sujatha, be prepared to talk about yourself. Because Ayurveda emphasises balance in all areas of your life, she will examine not only your body, but will also take an extensive personal and medical history, including questions about your diet, profession and working conditions, exercise routines, relationships and mental health. This thorough intake process helps her to identify key symptoms and potential causes of imbalance, make an accurate diagnosis and determine suitable treatment options.

Dr. Sujatha’s initial Ayurvedic examination will generally consist of three parts:

* Observation (Darshan): First she evaluates your general physical health by observing your movements, body contour, the colour of your skin and eyes, facial lines and ridges, shape of your nose, and qualities of your lips, hair, and nails.

* Touch (Sparsha): Dr. Sujatha then employs touch, including palpation (pressing down on parts of the body, called sparshanam in Ayurveda), auscultation, which is listening for sounds made by the internal organs (shrvanaa), and percussion or tapping (akotana). There is special focus on the your pulse, tongue, nails, and speech. Laboratory testing may also be included under this category.

* Questions (Prashna): Finally, Dr. Sujatha asks you about complaints and symptoms, as well as the duration of discomfort and disease progression. She also inquires about mental and psychological conditions, to ensure a holistic approach to your well-being assessment.

Most westerners are familiar with visiting a healthcare provider when they feel ill. The provider diagnoses the sickness and determines which pathogens, such as bacteria or virus, caused it. The treatment is then geared toward selecting a technique to battle those pathogens.

Dr. Sujatha’s Ayurvedic diagnosis differs from this Western process in that the diagnosis is made not only on the disease level (called roga), but also on the patient level (called rogi). The exhaustive examination helps her not only diagnose the disorder, but individualise prescriptive treatments for each patient.

According to Ayurveda, diseases are due to a doshic imbalance. Determining the patient's dosha, and identifying the root cause of disease, requires precise training.

To make a diagnosis, the Ayurvedic practitioner uses a method called rogi-roga pareeksha, which combines disease analysis with deep examination of each individual. Dr. Sujatha considers the whole human being, believing that people have within them the required energy to bring their body back to a balanced state.

Instead of focusing on a treatment or medicine to heal the illness, the Ayurvedic practitioner concentrates on the techniques that will strengthen the healthy elements inherent in every body, which will in turn help the individual to recover. Treatments and medicines are a vital part of this process, but act only to support the body's self-reparation.
